So there is a little rhyme that goes along with Boxty and it goes a little something like this. Boxty on the griddle, boxty on the pan Casinoslots Singapore. If you can't make boxty you can't get a man. I don't know how to make boxty but I somehow landed Sam. So.
I must have low standards huh? Uh! So I got boxty with ham, cheese and an egg. A fried egg on top. So let's have a taste of this. It's still steaming. Mmmm. Oh! Hahaha. You silly goose. It tastes like fried mashed potatoes. Alright, and what do you have over here? So mine is the pulled pork with an apple sauce. Apple chutney. What do you think? It's so good. I love that. I love any kind of potato dish that is fried and then you add some pulled pork to that. Yum! Magic! So if I had to compare this dish to anything from back home in North America I would say it is kind of similar to a hash brown except it is a lot thicker and potato is a bit softer. But I mean it is still fried, mashed and grated potatoes. So it's good. Heavy on the carbs, pretty tasty. I like that is comes with different toppings and I could honestly eat this for breakfast, lunch or dinner. So it works anytime of day. While in town we made time to visit the Ulster Museum. They have a really good exhibit focusing on The Troubles, where you can learn more about Northern Ireland's turmoiled past. While wandering around the city you'll also notice large murals with strong political messages. Some of these make reference to the city's turbulent past, while others allude to a peaceful future. These murals offer a unique window into the city, and you can even take black taxi tours that cover the history and show you to the peace lines and some of the troubled spots. Belfast City Hall is located in Donegall Square, in the heart of the city centre. They offer free daily tours to the public. The Octopus's Garden is a fun Vintage Store in Belfast's city centre. They have old tapes and records, as well as unique pieces for anyone wanting to spice up their wardrobe. So if you take a look at my pint over here you might be thinking I'm having Guinness. It does look a lot like Guinness but in fact it is Belfast Black. And I have to say it tastes just as good if not better. For 360 degree views of Belfast, we recommend going to Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and riding the elevator up to the dome. This will give you a nice bird's eye view of Belfast. St. Anne's Cathedral, also known as Belfast Cathedral, has stood over 100 years. It's another attraction worth visiting if you're in the area. For a different dining experience, you can set foot aboard Holohan's at The Barge, which is moored beside the Waterfront Theatre. It's the top rated restaurant in Belfast, plus it's pretty cool dining aboard a ship. Lastly, if you're in the mood to catch a performance while you're in Belfast, you can choose between Ulster Hall or the Grand Opera House, both of which have pretty active events schedules. So to wrap things up here in Belfast I'm going to mention three things I really liked about the city. First off it is highly affordable.

Well, I'm glad I'm not a student anymore but I am enjoying visiting Queen's University here in Belfast. It has a lovely campus. And what is cool for us is that we have a connection to Queen's because we went to a University in Canada also called Queen's. But I think there is no affiliation between the two. Just the same name. Yeah, that's it. Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. It also happens to have a really nice campus, so we decided to take a little stroll. The Botanic Gardens first opened as a private garden in 1828, and for many years the public only had access on Sundays. Today anyone can visit and it's a beautiful place to walk around, especially if you luck out with sunshine. So it is a beautiful afternoon here in Belfast and today we're going to be visiting Belfast Castle.
Now up until today I had never heard of Belfast Castle before but I got chatting with the taxi driver and he really recommended this place. So here we are and we're going to go check it out. I made friends with a forest creature. So cute! Belfast Castle sits on the slopes of Cave Hill Country Park, and it offers nice panoramic views of the city. Visiting may or may not make you feel like royalty for the day. So another cool thing you can do at Belfast Castle is eat a meal here. So that is exactly what we're doing. We're heading downstairs to the Cellar Restaurant. I'm hungry! This is my first meal inside a castle and I'm having a clam chowder. Mmmmm. So how was your first meal in a castle? Well, it was really good. That's some of the best risotto I've had in a long time. And I must say that the price was really affordable and it was just a great meal. Well, after that glorious feast it is time to burn off some calories. We're going to go all the way up to Cave Hill and we've got a bit of a hike. Okay, so we had every intention of reaching the top of Cavehill but honestly the path isn't clearly marked and we only have about an hour before the sun sets and we've hit a point where this trail splits into five different little paths. And we don't really know which way to go so we figure better turn back around now before it gets any darker. However, if you do start the hike a little earlier in the day, and maybe if you have a better map than what we have on hand you should try it because we've been told the views are great once you reach the top. There you go. Alright, it is hockey night in Northern Ireland. We are here in Belfast to watch the Giants play. I'm a huge hockey fan, and coming from Canada this is a real treat. This is my first hockey game in Europe. Let's go check it out. So today we're up in Belfast and we're trying a traditional Irish and Northern Irish dish. This is called Boxty. And it is basically made with grated potato that is mixed with mashed potatoes and fried in a pan. So Sam and I have ordered two different varieties and we're going to be digging into those because they just arrived and we're so hungry. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights. Belfast is the capital city and largest city in Northern Ireland. This destination hasn't always been popular with visitors due to a conflict known as The Troubles; however, in recent years Belfast has experienced a resurgence and it's slowly starting to make a name for itself.
We gave ourselves a few days to explore the city, and the result is the following video showcasing 20 things to do in Belfast: The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city. Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship. The SS Nomadic was a steamship built as a tender to the RMS Titanic. It was her job to ferry passengers, baggage, and supplies to and from the shore. So why don't you go place an order over there with your virtual server? Sure, thing. Two champagnes please. So you can play dress-up aboard the SS Nomadic and maybe perhaps this is what women would have worn back in the day. Ooh! Would you care to join me for a cocktail tonight? Oh my! I'm going to say yes! You look absolutely ravishing darling. Why thank you! Thank you! Ah! Next up we are heading inside St George's Market, which we've been told is more than just a farmer's market. Apparently, aside from buying food there you can catch some live shows, go shopping for vintage items, jewelry. So we're going to head inside and see what it is like. And it is only open on the weekends. Breakfast time in Belfast! So since we've been in Ireland my favorite meal has been breakfast. And it's been a full Irish breakfast. We're now in Belfast and over here it is called an Ulster Fry. It's slightly different from an Irish breakfast which we'll explain later. But it is a very complete breakfast, it has a lot of different things including bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes and a whole bunch of other stuff which we'll show you in a bit. It is time for a grand tour of the meal. Breakfast has arrived. So we've got soda and potato bread over here. We've got our fried egg. We've got something that resembles a hash-brown. We've got our sausage, our bacon and of course our beans. So that is a very complete meal. Yeah. I hope you're hungry. Yeah, we sure are. So what I find really unique about the Ulster Fry is that you get potato bread and soda bread which are breads that I've never really tried before. But they are quite nice and compact. Very heavy. You know, you're getting your carbs in early in the morning. It looks quite thin but it is really heavy. Starchy. And then this is the soda bread. I'm not really sure if you're supposed to put butter and jam on it since it is more of a savory bread but it is really good on its own. And I think they call them rashers here. Yeah, they are called rashers. Sam eating rashers. Mmmm. How are they? Something that I love about the Ulster Fry and Irish Breakfast is that you can pick it up almost any time of day. We typically have it for breakfast but if you get a craving for it at night you can pop into a restaurant that specializes in the dish and you can have yourself some. So are you feeling like a student again this morning? Zack Morris heard Screech's parents are going out of town for their anniversary and shows up like he owns the place before they've left the house. He carelessly picks up Mrs.
Powers' prize Elvis statue, making her scream she would die if anything ever happened to it. Mrs. Powers hands Screech a huge list of rules, including no girls and no parties, which Zack urges him to ignore. Slater says they can still have fun hanging out doing guy stuff. Hold that thought Oncasinogames Canada. Jessie, a decent human, sees Violet getting harassed by her nerdy boyfriend Max and stands up for her. Max responds by forcing himself on Jessie. That's gonna be important later. Hey, remember that guy stuff? Turns out to be this, which okay, looks like a good time I guess, even though surfing on the couch and dropping your nuts on the floor are probably against the rules. The girls show up to point and laugh at these losers. Screech tries to kick them out, but their dance moves are contagious and they knock over the Elvis status. Zack, who knows how important the statue is, stands there and does nothing to try and save it, then decides now is a great time to try some fresh material. - Looks like the king is dead, again. - Screech passes out and has a nightmarish vision where he's visited by his deceased mother who died as a result of his negligence. Zack tells Screech not to worry because they'll get a replacement statue, even though he has no idea if one exists, where to buy it, or how much it might cost. Lisa miraculously finds an identical statue that costs $250 doing all of the legwork while Zack sat on his lazy blonde ass. Zack sees Max harassing his now ex-girlfriend and decides to teach him a lesson. - $250 lesson. - [Voiceover] Because robbing this nerd will definitely teach him to respect women. Zack organizes a poker game at Screech's house, breaking the house rules yet again, and everyone unsurprisingly loses all their money to Max, who is dressed like he works at a goddamn casino. Zack is down to his last dime when he gets a hand he proudly shows to all his friends with a big dumb grin like all great poker players do. Unable to come up with the $50 necessary to keep playing, Zack bets Screech's dog. Zack assures Screech he cannot lose with this hand and pressures Max into going all in for $250 against the value of this live animal. Zack has four queens, which would be great, except for the fact that Max beats him with four kings. Max takes the dog and Screech drifts into a catatonic state of shock. Also, there are 42 poker hands that can beat four queens, you fucking genius, but don't worry. Zack assures everyone he'll teach Max another lesson. That lesson, stand behind Slater while he threatens Max and takes all the risk of getting caught assaulting a peer when the principal shows up. Max says he'll give the dog back if he can get a date with Jessie. Zack tells Max he'll happily make one of his best female friends spend the night with a guy he knows abuses women and sexually violated her yesterday, but not before Zack announces they're going to have a party at Screech's house. That's right, Zack finally gets to have his party, only now he's charging an entrance fee so they can buy the statue and maybe make some extra cash on the side. When Jessie says she won't go on Zack's arranged date, he guilts her into it by reminding Screech of the dog he lost to make him cry. Zack ignores Jessie begging for help at the party. - Help me! - And they get enough cash to buy the statue just in time for Screech's mom to come home early and catch them. Zack convinces her it's a party for their anniversary thanks to a banner he rigged, because apparently he knew they'd probably get caught but still had the party anyway. Let's review. Zack Morris tried to get his best friend to have a party against his mother's rules, did nothing to stop her statue from shattering, did nothing to help find a replacement, lost all his friend's money in a poker match, gambled away Screech's dog, forced his best friend to go on a date with a known sex offender, and threw a party anyways knowing he'd get caught. Zack Morris is trash. With the increased number of graduates emerging that are all straight out from college, students are forced to do something to help distinguish themselves from the rest of the crowd. This has led to an increasing number of students enrolling at a vocational education school to help give them an upper edge upon graduating. They are already trained in a career when they graduate giving them a massive edge over someone who has graduated from a traditional school. With it essay online service will help you.
Many people realize quite quickly upon graduating from college exactly how rough the job market is. If it does not sink in when they do graduate, it sinks in very quickly upon receiving the first bill for those student loans that were needed to pay for the education that was going to get a job. Student loans are often a huge consideration that typically require repayment to begin somewhere around 6 months after graduation. For some this is ample time to find a job, for others this is a great period of time after graduation when they are free to sit and stress out about how to cover those payments before their credit is hit by negative remarks from late payments and no job. The job market is fierce lately, and this requires employers to be much harder in picking out the perfect employee for their needs. Vocational education schools are wonderful since they train students to go straight into the workforce. They enable employers to pick from highly qualified graduates who are up to date on the latest technology and fresh into the market who can be trained in any additional procedures and policies. Many employers are able to reap wonderful savings from hiring an employee who is already trained. This is the edge that many graduates need in order to be able to successfully secure a job upon graduation. Many vocational education schools also offer job placement assistance, so that students are matched up with employers seeking the skills they have to offer. Most vocational schools will offer this as a free service to students, that they would otherwise be forced to pay for. This adds up to a wonderful benefit for everyone. The best business prospects that exist are when everyone involved wins. When dealing with a vocational education school everyone does win. The student wins by graduating with a skill that serves them well for their career in the field they have chosen. The employer benefits by hiring an employee that requires much less training, and the school benefits by being able to watch yet another student grow into a mature and distinguished professional. As you can see, there are several benefits from graduating from a vocational education school. The chances of being an unemployed graduate are much less, which will reduce the amount of stress you are under as a new graduate. Instead you can bask and celebrate in the success of your new job, and the fact that you have the skills you need to be successful and are as up to date as possible in all of the technology in your field. Picking the right college is one of the most important first steps toward a successful college experience, career and future. The simple steps below will point you in the right direction.
1. In order to make the right college choice, determine what your strengths are and start from there. Focus on the types of careers you will enjoy doing in the future, and try not to base your career evaluation on money alone. Dig deep into yourself to find out what really moves you-- what you enjoy, and then find out everything about your choice(s). Review the daily ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of the actual jobs and the steps needed for success. If you get the opportunity to speak with someone who does that particular job, make sure you ask lots of detailed questions. Find out what college courses are needed to complete your degree, and confirm that it’s the right career choice for you. Do not base your choices on what your friends are doing, it’s your life, it’s your future, it’s your choice. Go online to research different careers that interest you in addition to asking your high school guidance counselor for advice and information, your parents for their opinions and advice and extended family and friends for their views, but make sure that you are the one to make the final decision. 2. Figure out your personal criteria for choosing a college. Write down where you might want to live for the next four years (away or close to home); distinguish the college atmosphere you’re looking for (urban, rural, small college town or city atmosphere, etc.), and find out tuition information and financial aid/scholarship options. Also, you can always use college help. 3. After you figure out #1 & #2, start looking for the colleges that fit your career choice(s) and criteria and collect as much information about each college. Create a list and categorize your choices into three sections: “dream college picks” “realistic college picks” and “safe college picks.” Go online to research each of your college/university picks and do virtual tours before you go on an actual campus tour (find out when the campus tours are). Request an information package to be sent to your home and make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for each college pick. 4. Visit each campus to check them out personally and get a real feel for each school. This will give you an opportunity talk to students, faculty members, and administrators. If possible, stay overnight in a dorm to see what living at the college is really like. *You should always visit the colleges you’re most interested in attending (maybe not so easy with overseas colleges). 5. Apply to all of your college picks, and yes! Even the dream picks—you never know. Good luck. Body language signs will ensure you are sending the right signals Body Language signs are key components of the interview that are often overlooked by the candidate. We analyze body language all day everyday and don’t even realize we are doing it. Well, interviewers have to be very aware of it. What is body language? Well it is the non-verbal communication that is every bit as important as the spoken word. Books have been written, seminars have been organized and TV shows have dealt with this subject. After all these years, it is very easy for me to read the candidate's’ confidence, nervousness and ability to present their most important subject. There are overt and subtle signs that interviewer look for and read. There is definitely a job interview body language. We are here to make sure that you demonstrate positive body language in the interview. There are simple tips that can make a world of difference. Trust me, people have no idea they are using negative body language and that there shipped is sailing without their knowing why. Interviewing is not something you do very often in your lifetime, so look to someone who has done over a 1000 of these babies to steer you in the right direction. Reading and interpreting body language is what we do consciously or subconsciously throughout our life. Some are better than others with this skill. Those who conduct many interviews utilize this skill constantly to separate the field. This book is all about practical knowledge from a working, hiring manager so let me help you as I have helped others. Make a difference in your presentation by knowing the key body language signs and more importantly how they can work for you. This is an important skill that can make a dramatic difference in how your present yourself and certainly how the manager will perceive you. Show them the confidence through your words and actions. Finally, your professional CV is approved and you are invited to an interview. The importance of punctuality is absolutely paramount for your success.
The importance of punctuality on the interview day cannot be stressed enough. What is punctuality on the ladder of importance for interview day? Well, you can’t get in the game unless you start the engine. If you are late, you might as well shut off the engine and go home. There are other repercussions if you are not punctual that affect your ability to present effectively. Emergencies and surprises can arise You want to demonstrate your dependability and punctuality right off the bat with the interviewer. Nothing says it better that you are the right choice than being early. Hey, we all know that emergencies and surprises can arise. I will speak to several scenarios that could upset the old apple cart. I can assure you that I have seen and heard it all in my 20+ years of interviewing. You think all my 1000+ interviews got off to a rosy start? I think not. Policemen hear all the stories why people speed and I have heard all the excuses why someone is late. I applaud their creativity, but question their commitment. We all demand and respect punctuality in the workplace, so why not start here? You can alleviate this concern and eliminate this undue by planning ahead. Do you know the location of where to meet. -Can you do a test drive a day or two before? -Is ample parking available or are spots hard to find? -Is a long walk involved? -How much time do you need to drive to the meeting place? -If the interview is in a hotel, can you visit ahead of time and actually walk the premises? -Do you have a cell phone number of the interviewer in case you cannot find them? Most importantly did you confirm the location with the hiring manager or the recruiter? This advance planning speaks to the importance of first impression and being punctual is the first step. Remember, I have been on both sides and therefore realize the importance of punctuality and the downside of a late arrival. Listen, you have been preparing for a job interview and investing your precious time, so don’t let it all go up in smoke on the interview day. This is your day and you deserve this opportunity. Mutual respect is vital in any relationship and this situation is no different. They respectfully gave you the time to present and therefore respect their time and be punctual. Introductions and greets determine the first impression.
The introductions and greets determine the first impression for both the interviewer and candidate. It is important in business to know how to greet someone in the interview process. I gotta tell you, that this does make a big difference. How? You would be amazed at the confidence you can instill right of the bat with that first handshake and hello. Believe me, there is a marked difference in how people perform this little ritual. Let me ask you this, “How do you greet people?” Well, these are just people you are meeting in business, so warmly and friendly is a good start. Put yourself in the other person’s shoes and this should tell you what they would like to see. How do you greet people? You will also have to conduct interviews on the phone where your greeting will be just as important. I have conducted many interviews this way and the tone and passion in the voice were important replacements for the handshake and greetings. You want to do it the same way you greet your customers on the phone. This is a great indication to me how you would deal with your customers over the phone which is a vital skill. Are there right and wrong ways to greet someone? You betcha! You’re thinking I have been greeting people all my life, I know how to do this. I am sure you to do it well in your personal life, but know that there is a better way to greet someone than many of the candidates I see. I have observed job candidates do this over 1000 times and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. While I am not here to create a whole new science on the art of greeting someone, you do need to know what matters in those first critical seconds. Proper greetings will get your interview going in the right direction and lead to a successful conclusion |
